Events to be announced throughout the summer.

Community Visioning Survey

The Comprehensive Plan is a document that is rooted in Frisco’s community goals and desires for the future. It will outline policies on a range of topics from growth and development to arts and culture. Share your thoughts on the future of Frisco by taking the Community Visioning Survey from June 4-21, 2024. Your participation in this survey will help ensure recommendations reflect your vision.

Project Introduction

Nestled in the heart of Colorado’s mountains, Frisco is a special community with much to offer, from boating on Dillon Reservoir, to skiing at the Frisco Nordic Center, to a hike in the surrounding public lands.

At the same time, the town faces key challenges, including rising housing prices, year round automobile traffic from Front Range visitors, and risk related to climate change and natural hazards. This Comprehensive Plan will be a forward-looking document to articulate the needs and priorities of the community and an actionable guide in decision-making. Goals, strategies, and actions within the plan will facilitate sustainable growth and development, with particular attention paid to quality of place, economics, mobility, equity, services, and social networks.

What is a Comprehensive Plan?

A Comprehensive Plan is required by the State of Colorado to serve as a guide for growth and development. It reflects the community’s vision and goals for the future and should address different elements including land use, transportation, economy, and the natural environment. The Comprehensive Plan can be leveraged as a long-range planning tool to guide town-wide policy decision-making.

This plan seeks to meet all the requirements of the Department of Local Affairs (DOLA). Robust engagement will ensure a plan that is supported by the community and can be referenced in the decision-making process.

What is the Comprehensive Plan not?

The Comprehensive Plan does not establish or modify zoning regulations for the Town of Frisco. While it may be used as a framework for future decision making, and may help ensure policies and planning efforts are aligned with community goals, a Comprehensive Plan, on its own, is not regulatory and does not create or modify laws.

How do we get there?

We will work with the voices of the community, from key stakeholders to local community members, to identify core values and priorities for the future. A deep understanding of the issues will inform goals and actions which may include programs, projects, and policy. Engagement opportunities should be open and accessible to all members of the community, as the future is for everyone. It is critical that engagement is diverse and reaches underrepresented populations.
